I am a long-time Mac user, and recently needed help badly when I relocated my business (a literary agency) to my new home office. Chris was able to come within 24 hours, fixed every computer problem I had, installed new software, and taught me a lot about the OS X (I was still using 9.2). He made sure all of my old email (more than 5,000), and important documents--including entire manuscripts and financial data--were saved. It's been smooth sailing every since. I've been in touch with him a few times with questions: he always gets back to me immediately and has answered every question I've had.

He’s conscientious, prompt in replying, and responsible about the business end of his business. On the technical side he’s very knowledgeable about the Mac, and is truly enthusiastic about the capacity of the machine. But he’s not a techie-geek and he doesn’t use geek-speak. Since my old Apple handyman moved on to a new life out of the Bay Area, I’ve had no one to call for Apple help. I was reluctant to install OS X by myself since I was already having frequent freezes and other glitches. Enter Chris Harnish! Without losing so much as an e-mail from my huge stash, he installed OS X, cleaned up my hard disk, upgraded my word processor, straightened out the problems I was having with my ISP, and left some terrific shareware for my perusal. He seems honest and expert and I would recommend him to work on your Mac any time.”

I am very gregarious by nature and usually take a lot of time creating a highly personal relationship. I decided to forgo that in the case of Chris and had a list of questions prepared. So, we stuck to the subject at hand, my Mac. I was impressed by his knowledge and his calm ability to communicate. I'm a fairly hardcore technophobe, but I did not feel condescension in his manner towards me. I felt we had both done good work at the end of the session and that my money had been well-spent. I have had to lean on others heavily for technical assistance and have felt anguish at a new form of co-dependence. It is great to be able to call on a professional. I have had two follow-up phone questions, and he has been gracious and forthcoming in answer to each. I will be calling him again. If I were to hit the lottery, my first wish would be a full time Palates instructor, the second would be Chris Harnish on retainer. I can give him a high recommendation.
